Resilience LifeSkills

Aimed at people aged 25 and under, LifeSkills are there to support young people by providing them with the digital tools and resources they need to support their mental wellbeing, at their own pace, in their own time, for free.

Our latest module, Resilience, has been developed in partnership with The Harry Kane Foundation, and helps young people build confidence, manage challenges and strengthen their mental health before reaching crisis point.

LifeSkills is a growing series of free, self-paced digital learning tools designed to support wellbeing through expert information, lived experience and interactive content. Co-designed with young people from the start, the series is relatable, engaging and practical. Existing modules include Growth Mindset, Anxiety, and Substance Misuse. Resilience builds on this foundation, giving young people tools to adapt to setbacks and maintain wellbeing in everyday life.

Developed with the HKF, Resilience reflects Harry Kane’s personal commitment to normalising conversations about mental health. Drawing on his own experience, Harry encourages young people to see mental wellbeing as something everyone can nurture.

I’ve always believed that mental health is just as important as physical health. Building resilience has helped me throughout my life, on and off the pitch. I’m proud that through my Foundation’s partnership with Mental Health Innovation’s The Mix, we’re giving young people the tools to manage challenges and take care of their wellbeing,” says Harry Kane, Founder of HKF and England men’s captain.

The Resilience self-paced learning tool helps young people understand that resilience is not about being unbreakable, but about learning, adapting and growing through challenges. It shows that everyone faces difficult days, at school, in sport, relationships or work, and teaches young people how to recognise their strengths, draw on support from others and ask for help when needed.

Like the other modules, Resilience has been designed to make learning engaging and accessible, and features comic-style graphics presenting everyday scenarios with practical tips embedded directly into the visuals. It also includes videos, real-life stories and expert insights, making complex ideas easy to digest and helping young people explore coping strategies in a natural and relatable way.

Recognising that young people have different needs at different ages, the module is available in two versions: one for ages 10–14 and another for ages 15–18, each using age-appropriate language, examples and tone to feel relevant and empowering.

Co-created with young people from The Mix’s online community and youth voice network, and shaped by MHI’s clinical and content specialists, Resilience uses personal stories, interactive tools, comic-style graphics and expert insight to empower young people to recognise their strengths, build self-belief and develop strategies to protect their mental health in a fast-changing world.

Each LifeSkills topic combines young people’s lived experiences with guidance from clinical experts, presented in an easy-to-digest, non-judgemental format. This provides early intervention support for those who may be struggling but are not yet in crisis.
