For years, Laura has been a dedicated supporter of Mental Health Innovations. From giving her time as a Shout Volunteer and supporting vital campaigns to now taking on the London Marathon for our charity, Laura has shown an incredible commitment to helping us reach more people who need support with their mental health. We’re delighted to announce Laura’s new role as an ambassador for Mental Health Innovations, supporting our services Shout and The Mix.

As a Shout Volunteer, Laura has taken over 850 conversations with people experiencing mental health challenges, helping us provide a vital lifeline to children, young people and adults across the UK. She has also been a passionate advocate for the Shout service, supporting social media campaigns and working with us to record a voiceover for our How Shout Works animation - helping more people understand and access support when they need it most.

My primary role with Shout is as a volunteer, and I’m so proud to have been one since 2022. I’ve found taking conversations with people and supporting them through their toughest times to be a very powerful, humbling and inspiring experience. It’s a service that is desperately needed and life-saving for so many. When I was asked to become an ambassador and help in an additional capacity, I was excited to take on this new role, and hopefully help to shine a light on the amazing work that Shout and Mental Health Innovations does.

Alongside becoming an ambassador, Laura is now challenging herself to run the London Marathon for our charity in April.

Laura

"Running the marathon for Mental Health Innovations feels like a really good fit for me. Shout is not only a service I’m passionate about and am excited to raise some money for, but running has always been something that’s helped me with my mental (and physical) health and kept me steady when everything has felt out of control.

Running is free, it’s something you can do anywhere, and creating challenges and milestones for myself with running has given me a sense of achievement in dark times when nothing else seemed to be going my way.”

We’ve been incredibly grateful for Laura’s dedication and support as a volunteer over the years, and we’re thrilled to welcome her as an ambassador for our charity. We couldn’t be more thankful for her continued commitment, and we’re excited to work together to raise vital awareness and funds for our services.
