For years, mental health advocate Ben West has been a dedicated champion of our charity. Through tireless campaigning, volunteering and fundraising, he has made a real difference to countless people who have turned to us in moments of crisis.

This International Men’s Day, we’re thrilled to announce Ben as an ambassador for Mental Health Innovations, supporting our digital services Shout and The Mix. Ben’s support will help us continue working to ensure everyone in the UK can access free mental health crisis support, whenever they need it.

I've seen first-hand the impact that Shout plays in supporting people through some of the worst moments of their lives. Mental Health Innovations is an incredible charity, and as an ambassador, I am excited to work together to make sure that Shout and The Mix are always there for anyone who needs support and that we continue to grow our impact into the future.

Ben West

Over the past few years, Ben has become a powerful voice for our charity. In 2023, he led the 1 Million Steps for Suicide Prevention campaign in memory of his brother, Sam, inspiring people across the UK to ‘get out for Shout’, and helping to raise over £14,000 for our service.

Earlier this year, he launched the Be the Difference campaign, taking on an epic ultramarathon to support Shout and encouraging others to do the same - by donating their time or money to be the difference in someone’s life and help during their moment in need.

Ben also joined us and The Prince of Wales to celebrate our merger with The Mix - a milestone that is helping us to reach millions more children, young people and adults with free, digital mental health support.

We’re incredibly grateful for Ben’s continued support as a dedicated advocate and now as an ambassador for our services. Over the years, Ben has made a substantial impact to our charity: encouraging hundreds of people around the UK to donate, fundraise or volunteer for our services. We’re so thankful for Ben’s continued support, and look forward to continuing to work together to improve the mental health of the UK.
