Following the merger of The Mix and Mental Health Innovations we are delighted to announce our new Board of Trustees. We would like to thank Ed Wray, for the outstanding commitment, guidance and support he has given us as he steps down as Chair of the Board with Andrew Harrison becoming our new Chair. We are delighted that Ed will be continuing as a Trustee.

Edward Wray, outgoing Chair said:

“Having chaired Mental Health Innovations since its launch seven years ago, I am very proud of what we have achieved in that time and am immensely excited about the future following our merger with The Mix. I am delighted to be able to hand over the Chair to Andrew Harrison, who has so successfully steered The Mix, as Chair, since 2020, and I look forward to working closely with him and the rest of the Board in the years ahead.

A significant benefit of uniting our two charities has been that we can now bring together the unparalleled expertise of a blended Board to steer our mission to support the mental health of the UK population through technology. I am therefore incredibly pleased to be welcoming four accomplished new Trustees to the Mental Health Innovations Board.

I would also like to extend my deep gratitude to the retiring members of both the Mental Health Innovations and The Mix Boards who have guided both charities over the past several years, culminating in our merger. We have been extremely lucky to have benefited from their dedication and experience over that time.”

The new Mental Health Innovations Trustees are Helen Hopper, Michael Lister, James Scroggs and Vik Verma. The retiring Trustees from Mental Health Innovations are Dominic Flynn, Jerome Misso, Amy Shi-Nash and Uma Vaidyanathan. The retiring Trustees from The Mix are Henny Braund OBE, Debbie Chandler, Adarsh Ramchurn and Dr Tara Weeramanthri.

The full list of Mental Health Innovations Board members can be found on our website.

Andrew Harrison, Chair of Mental Health Innovations, said:

“I am delighted to become Chair of Mental Health Innovations. I’d like to welcome and thank our new Board of Trustees, who offer a wealth of experience and expertise which will be of invaluable help as we embark on this new stage of our charity’s development, tackling the urgent and growing need for mental health support in the UK. I would like to thank Ed for his incredible contribution to the growth and success of MHI.”

Mental Health Innovations also has a Youth Advisory Board, who play a crucial role in ensuring that the perspectives of young people are represented at every level of our charity. The Youth Advisory Board is comprised of beneficiaries and volunteers from both The Mix and Shout services. Its mission is to provide a platform for young people to share their ideas, thoughts and opinions with the MHI Senior Leadership Team and Board of Trustees. Additionally they help shape how we deliver on Youth Voice, serving as a vital sounding board on the many issues we aim to address.

Michael Lister, Chair of the Youth Advisory Board, said:

“I am incredibly proud to continue serving as the Chair of the Youth Advisory Board at Mental Health Innovations. It is inspiring to see that MHI, its staff, and the Senior Leadership Team recognise the importance of placing young people’s voices at the heart of shaping mental health support and creating new services. The Youth Advisory Board will work alongside our dedicated trustees, Senior Management Team and volunteers to drive meaningful change. We’re looking forward to the launch later this year of exciting new products such as self-paced learning tools and Peer Chat, expanding our impact and ensuring we can reach even more people in need.”
